I'm Byron, founder of Project 44, based in Brisbane, Australia. I join your team for 4–8 weeks and build whatever you need: payroll automations from invoice to payment, custom web apps, client portals, booking systems, internal tools, and AI assistants. You decide the mix.

Some weeks I'm mapping a pay run pipeline from Deputy to Xero; other weeks I'm building a client portal or booking system. I don't build in a silo. I work alongside your team, learn how things actually run, and build the systems that fit. No templates, no assumptions.

Before Project 44, I spent years in operations management and software engineering watching small business owners burn out on repetitive back-office work: chasing timesheets, reconciling pay runs, or running their business on a mess of disconnected spreadsheets. I started automating my own workflows, then my clients', then entire departments. Eventually I realised this was the thing I should be doing full time: helping businesses run smarter, not harder.
